DAY 1: Arrival in Venice
Arrival in Venice. Meeting with the pilgrimage’s tour operator at the airport. Next we will transfer and check-in to hotel. Free time. Dinner. Overnight stay.
DAY 2: San Marino
After breakfast we will travel to San Marino - the smallest republic in the world - where we will take a short walk and shop in the duty-free zone. Next we will transfer to the hotel on the Adriatic Riviera. For those interested there will be an evening walk on the beach. Check-in to hotel. Dinner. Overnight stay.
DAY 3: Loreto, Manoppello, San Giovanni Rotondo
After breakfast we will go to Loreto, where we see the Basilica della Santa Casa, or the Basilica of the Holy House. We will celebrate Holy Mass. The Basilica contains the Holy House of Mary of Nazareth. Afterward we will go to the Sanctuary in Manoppello, Abruzzi. There, in the small Capuchin monastery, we can find an extraordinary relic revered for five hundred years – a piece of cloth known as the Volto Santo, or the Veil of Veronica. In the evening we will travel to San Giovanni Rotondo, where St. Padre Pio, by offering his suffering, carried out a message of love. Check-in to hotel. Dinner. Overnight stay.
DAY 4: San Giovanni Rotondo, Monte Sant’ Angelo
After breakfast we will visit Padre Pio Pilgrimage Church in San Giovanni Rotondo. Next we will travel to Monte Sant’Angelo, a commune and town of Apulia in southeastern Italy located on the southern slopes of Monte Gargano. Here is located one of the most famous sanctuaries of the Catholic Church, the Sanctuary of Monte Sant'Angelo sul Gargano, in honour of Saint Michael the Archangel, where it rises from the top of the mountain. Monte Gargano is located in the region which comprises the spur of Italian boot, 856 m above sea level. In the evening we will transfer to a hotel near Naples. Check-in to hotel. Dinner. Overnight stay.
DAY 5: Capri, Naples
After breakfast we will take cruise to Capri, the most beautiful island of the Tyrrhenian Sea and one of the largest tourist attractions, where the mild, Mediterranean climate and wonderful views deliver a feast for the senses. This island was already famous in ancient times. Roman emperor Tiberius moved here permanently. He built a palace and many residences. We will then travel to the port of Marina Grande, where we will take a commuter train to the city and walk through the charming alleys. In the afternoon we will travel to Naples – the unofficial capital of southern Italy. Our program includes a walk along boisterous Via Toledo to the Umberto I Gallery, the Royal Theatre of Saint Charles, and the Piazza del Plebiscito with its Palazzo Reale, or Royal Palace. We will end our panoramic tour along one of the most beautiful promenades of Naples next to Castel dell’Ovo and Borgo Marinaro. In the evening we will return to a hotel near Naples for dinner and an overnight stay.
DAY 6: Pompeii, Monte Cassino
After breakfast we will visit the sanctuary of Our Lady of the Rosary in Pompeii. We will see the archaeological excavations of Pompeii, a town destroyed in 79 CE by a volcanic eruption of Mount Vesuvius. Next we will go to Monte Cassino. We will see the abbey of St. Benedictine of Nursia and then transfer to the Polish Cementary. In the evening we will go to a hotel near Rome. Check-in to hotel. Dinner. Overnight stay.
DAY 7: Vatican, Rome - Sunday
After breakfast we will travel to the Vatican. We will pray the Angelus Dominus in St. Peter’s Square if His Holiness is present in Vatican. Next we will see the Piazza Navona with the Fountain of the Four Rivers, the Pantheon, Venetian Plaza and Capitol, where we can admire Roman Forum and the Colosseum. In the afternoon we will go to the Papal Basilica of St. Paul outside the Walls, a priceless example of early medieval Christian architecture. In the evening we will return to the hotel. Dinner. Overnight stay.
DAY 8: Vatican, Rome
After breakfast we will travel to the Vatican. We will visit the grave of Saint John Paul the Great, also known as Pope John Paul II. We will see St. Peter’s Basilica and St. Peter’s Square. Next we will visit Santo Spirito in Sassia, Rome, which has a long history of providing the Divine Mercy to the human body and spirit. The church has a very rich and beautiful decor with many paintings, frescos, and works of art by superb artists from many periods. Saint John Paul II indicated that since 1 January, 1944 Santo Spirito in Sassia was to be a Center of God’s Mercy Spirituality. In the afternoon if possible we will visit Papal Archbasilica of St. John in Lateran and/or the Patriarchal Basilica of St. Mary Major. In the evening we will return to the hotel near Rome. Dinner. Overnight stay.
DAY 9: Cascia, Asissi
After breakfast we will go to the town of Cascia, resting place of Saint Rita. We will visit the Cascia Convent, where her shrine is. It is here, in a crystal sarcophagus, that one can see her body, which has remained incorrupted over the centuries. We will also see the monastery of Saint Mary Magdalene in Cascia, where she spent the last years of her life. Next we travel to medieval town of St. Francis – Assisi. Our program includes visiting the Papal Basilica of Saint Francis of Assisi and the crypt of St. Francis. In the evening we will check-in our hotel near Asissi. Dinner. Overnight stay.
DAY 10: Assisi, Padua
After breakfast, we celebrate Holy Mass in Assisi. We then travel to Padua. We will see the Pontifical Basilica of Saint Anthony of Padua, as well as the University of Padua and the Baptistry of Padua. Next we will travel for dinner and an overnight stay near Venice.
DAY 11: Departure from Venice
After breakfast, we transfer to the airport in Venice. Farewell with pilgrimage’s tour operator. Check-in and departure.
